The sad, sick little brown bat sitting on the sidewalk outside of my one job this morning has left me with the wish to pet a bat. Preferrably a big one. I might make do with a bat house instead.

I've been writing ot3 crackfic instead of original stuff. Maybe once I'm done with this little mess, I'll finally get that chapter breakdown for SttS finalized. I feel I may need to further develop my own characters in order to feel more driven to write about them. Or maybe I just need that solid direction of a layout and charted-out character sheet, whatever.

Finally, something productive . . . I've never made chili before, but this batch was apparently successful enough that zen_of_nihilism and his friend ate at least four whole pounds yesterday.
T3h Recipe:
One pound ground beef
a two-pound pork roast
two cans of black beans
one can of butterbeans
one can of corn
(about half the liquid from all those cans)
2 green peppers, seeded & cut up into 1" chunks
1 package of chili seasoning
about 1 tsp chili powder (more to taste) (remember that it'll get spicier the longer you cook it)
about 1 tsp onion powder
about 2/3 a 10-oz jar of mild pepper jelly
a can of tomato soup
a little water, if necessary
a chopped-up double handful of cherry tomatoes (probably a cup and a half)
Throw all the veggies in a slow cooker set on low. Brown the beef & pour it (and most of its liquid) in; cook & cut up the pork into little bits & add it (+ liquid) as well. Add everything else & leave overnight; stir and add extra spices as you need to in the morning. :P
