I love google analytics. It lets me stalk myself with much more accuracy than ljtoys ever could.
Elizabeth Strong's workshop and show this Saturday were made of awesomeness. Her Turkish Romani dance primer was . . . different. Yeah. :P But by the end, she pronounced us able to take what we've learned to any three-day Turkish Rom wedding and hold our own. (Which begs the question--how many Americans would survive a three day wedding?) The workshop was tough but it didn't completely thrash us. Okay, so the second one didn't thrash us. I talked to Hakan, one of our local tribal fusion guys, who said he'd done the full Sadiqua Iron Man challenge of the day--start off early with Sterling's pretty hardcore yoga, then roll straight into both workshops. My not being there and being thrashed as well was due to it being early morning and not at all to my being a big sissy, thank you.
But I still got lots of video--basics stuff from the workshop as well as a good number of the performances in very good quality. I filled two memory cards and am especially proud of myself--especially with how I might have material to go over at a later date. And yeah--sales were great, the crowd was great, and Elizabeth Strong was super-great. She was really incredibly down to earth and personable--she even asked how I'd done sales-wise at the end of the night. And her floorwork & sword balancing were ridiculous. I like her very much and would highly recommend going to see or study with her.
Now to see how much I have to resize these videos to post or share them. :P And to hunt down a wholesaler or two. I have less than two weeks until Tekko and this weekend wiped me out of a number of items.
. . . Which means I have a new priority: get the third chaptery thing done for the one story before I crack down on maille and necklaces again. That's been waiting entirely too long.
