Whrrgrbl.

I don't get why people still debate on whether or not any creator deity would be a sadist. Come on, now. The proof is in external genitalia.

"Running running OH GOD BRIARS NOOOOOOOO!"

Does anyone here have experience with sculptey clay? All I know thus far is that it doesn't hold up too well under spray paint. I want big shiny homemade bangles and a metalworking class is out of the question due to time and money constraints. My first attempt isn't pretty and fits the boy more than it fits me, but that was mostly expected. ("Mostly" because I expected the piece to shrink in the oven. Guess who's spent most of her time working with real clay?)

Currently reminding myself that not all chapters must be the same size, or near to the same size, or anything resembling a similar size. You'd think I would've gotten past this somewhere in In Stone, where the chapter size variance ran from three pages to twenty-five. But nooo, any reason to angst.

I'm not allowed to be sick of the work until it's ready and in the hands of my betas. And I'm not allowed to start on any of the others until this one is past its first draft form.

I'd pick up something random off the bookshelf in YA fiction to prove to myself (again) that if shit like that can get published, then I shouldn't have to worry about anything--but then again, subjecting myself to bad writing invariably hurts my narrative voice. So I'll go subject myself to more Lovecraft instead, with perhaps some Pullman and Kogawa for flavor.

Anyone have good bookrecs for a brain-cleaning reboot?
